Gah...I drive a 2010 Corolla LE...and when I was stopping my car, I mindlessly starting shifting my car from drive into park before the car came to a complete stop. It made a weird grinding noise for a second as I was shifting. I was going under 20 mph. I know, very stupid. The car drives fine, reverses good, shifts good, no weird noises. Does anyone know if there is anything I might need to worry about?

prob. was the transmission grinding between switching. Might have done some damage to the tranny, but as long as it was short and once, should be ok if I'm understanding this right.

You are probably fine. Assuming you didn't jam it into park, and instead immediately pulled it back to drive as it started to grind, I doubt you did anything serious if it still is working fine. I drive a manual, and every once and a while shifting (either from or to 2nd gear, can't remember) I let the clutch out too early and the gears click for a split second. It isn't good, but I doubt it caused lasting damage if there is no immediate effect.

It's an automatic so the noise you heard is just the parking pawl bouncing off the lugs on the drum inside the trans. Make sure you use your parking brake when parking on any type of incline. Better yet, ALWAYS use your parking brake.

happened to me with my moms old 2006 corolla LE (not so old), i was going under 10 mph, made the same noise, but it was fine. Also happened to me with my new 2010 LE, and it seems fine (i hope)

Thanks for all your input guys. So far, the transmission's been working fine and no weird noises from the car. I will definitely use my parking brake on hills. Luckily for me, Toyota's are built rock solid. :-)

My car got slammed into park with about 6000 miles on it by an angry female passenger while doing about 60mph. I haven't had any problems since though and I'm about to hit 40,000 now.
