What tint level should I go with?!

I have a 1998 Camry XLE and one of the next mods on my list is having it tinted. Spring is coming in Minnesota and with the leather seats and just general comfort at stake it's a needed change. Anyways the exterior is Beige as well as the interior and I was wondering what ppl think a proper % of light would be in this case? I'm quite certain the legal limit is 50%, but honestly at that level what's the point? I've been looking at 35%, but with the lighter interior I have a feeling that would almost lighten it up. What does everyone think? Pics would be great!

....Oh and i want to go the same level all around, unless someone can give a REALLY good reason why that shouldn't happen...Thanks!

Why would you spend $200-500 on tint that your state law will force you to strip off and/or fine you, not to mention it gives legitimate reason to pull you over at any time?

re: ".....not to mention the BA factor!"

No amount of tint will change the fact that you're driving a 98 Camry

Try searching Google or Bing Images, search for Camry window tint shades. Lots of examples of every shade/combination. That way you decide for yourself, and no one has to go on record advising you to break your state's law.

What do you mean "they aren't the same tint all around"? I was talking about how some people apply different tint levels on different windows on the same vehicle. (i.e. 35% on sides and 20% on back....)

@ Kyle

Yea it's actually identical so thanks for the info and pics! I've been getting quotes in the $160's and some of the guys I've talked to around here say they've never had any problems with cops and they're at 15%-35%. General rule seems to be as long as you're not blacked out and don't drive like a damn fool you'll probably remain ticket free.

Sometimes the installer will put a sticker on the window that says the percentage of tint. If there is no sticker, then your best bet is ask a police officer friend (if you know someone who's a cop) to check your tint with a light meter. Or buy your own. Those are my best guesses.

That's what I'm saying.

For example: The legal limit applies to the sides separate from the rear, such as 25% sides, 40% rear.

It is, therefore, illegal if the "legal limit" is 25% and you get 25% all around.
