83 Corolla auto to manual trans swap

I have an 83 corolla and currently in the middle of swapping out the automatic with a 5 speed transmission. I've run into some problems along the way and would like some feed back on what to do!! How do I regularly bypass the nuetral saftey switch from the automatic? Also after installing everything the car acts like the clutch is disengaged all the time, any suggestions? Thank you to all who look at my post and thank you to all who have tips!!

Did you use a new clutch and pressure plate?

Was the flywheel worn?

Does the clutch fork match the gearbox and throw out bearing? Are they all from the same car?

A mis-match with these could be a problem, in other words, a 4A clutch fork won't work well with a 7A gearbox or throw out bearing.

You can jumper the neutral saftey switch, (I don't know the wire colors, you will need to check the wiring diagram) but you will have no saftey at engine start and could possibly start in gear.

A better way would be to replace the neutral saftey switch with a clutch saftey switch.

Again, you will need the wiring diagram.
