Success! Key fob battery replacement

My key fob was giving me the signal it was dying. The unlock button worked well, but the lock button was getting weaker and weaker until it almost quit working alltogether.

So, just FYI, I replaced the battery and now all is well. I was concerned I was going to have to reprogram the remote after I removed the original battery, but that wasn't the case.

Forget going to the dealership if you're having the same problem with an aging remote key fob. Just pry the fob apart - there is a little lip at the end to get a tool in - remove the old battery and replace with same. I bought the new one at Walgreen's, $5 plus change. It should last another 8-10 years.
