Are you going to add the GPS ability? To me the real benefit of these DVD units is the ability to have GPS. I don't care about spending the $$$$ unless it has GPS so I can lose my Garmin unit. Playing DVD's is really a non-issue to me. The look & performance of my stock JBL unit is just fine for music. I always wonder if the stock looking units at Crutchfield are any better than the $500 China units as they are 3x the price.

I was concerned with the quality of the in-built gps/firmware, so i opted out. It's only $60 more. I see nothing wrong with my garmin, plus its portable! Btw, i dont think its possible now to add additional gps to the unit since its missing the chip inside...

For $60 you couldn't go wrong, even if you didn't like it you would still have your Garmin!

Yes, there's an ipod adapter that comes with it which connects to the back. Since i'm a huge "ipod-sucks" fan, i did not connect it.

The player also offers Bluetooth playback. My Cowon S9 can stream bluetooth so i just play it that way if needed.

EDIT: I'll try to make a video showing all the interface/features.

I couldn't stand it without my iPod connection. I've got an iPod connection in every car that I own! They are so simple & easy to useI can't imagine not having several.

I too am an Inti-Apple guy. But I do use my phone's 16gig memory card and "Walkman" feature to play my music via Aux jack. My phone is also my GPS (along with camera, movie player, etc) but if I were to get one of these (hopefully i will eventually) I will def get the GPS function.

Looks very nice though! Love how it matches the color of the dash!

I'm sorry that this is off topic but I have to ask as I don't understand. I'm not a real computer guy but why would anyone be anti-Apple? They seem to make nice products that are very reliable. Most everyone that I've spoken to about computers that used PC's & tried iMac's loved them enough to stick with them.

Like I said I'm not a computer wizard but every PC I've used seems to be less intuitive than an iMac. As far as iPods are concerned, they just seemed to function better than other brands when I was looking for my first MP3 player years ago. They also got rave reviews when I spoke to people that owned them. Another plus was that most things were made to work with the iPod too.

I'm just curious, that's all. The only time I've been anti anything is when I feel that it is really a piece of crap & Apple products have always seemed to get good reviews from owners & users.

I know for sure that some of the people I know that are Anti-Apple dont like them because some are over rated and/or too many people have them, stuff like that. I personally love macs but I dont know how to use it except in the apple store when I use the internet
